HOSKINS, PATRICK HOSKINS, Patrick Fredrick Victor, of Port Dover, born in Dover England, May 11, 1916, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at Norfolk General Hospital in his 95th year. Cherished father and father-in-law of Patricia and Jeff Greenfield of Simcoe, Michael and Debbie of Port Dover, Lawrence (Sam) and Mic Lyons of British Columbia. Loving grandfather of Gavin, Tyler (Lisa), Ryan (Lisa), Cody (Ashley), Casey, Beau and Dustin, Great Grampa Pat of Guerin, Ashley and Ethan (Little Cowboy), Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Helen in 2008, his parents Fred and Josephine, sister Elsie Murphy and brother Arthur. Pat moved to Brantford in 1920, coming to Port Dover in 1930, where he has resided in his own home until his recent hospital stay. He served in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserves from 1942 - 1945. Pat was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 158 and was a past president. Prior to his many years employment at the American Can, he was a commercial fisherman and a ice truck driver in Port Dover. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was an avid ball player and loved coaching. In his later years he took great pleasure in gardening, painting and telling stories to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to Sue ( the most understanding PSW) and Scott (his faithful RPN). A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 158, (Market & St. Patrick Sts.) Port Dover. A Legion Service will be held at 3 pm. For those wishing, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund or a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
