McCLUNG, HOWARD "FRASER"
McCLUNG, HOWARD FRASER of Port Dover passed away at Brantford General Hospital on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Agnes McClung (2008). Loving father and father-in-law of Richard and Jeannie of New York State, Gordon and Pearl of Burlington, Wayne and Maureen of Cambridge, and Brian and Vicki of Port Dover. Proud grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Much loved brother and brother-in-law of Jessie and Wilmer Kellner, Dorothy Weir and Hartley and Ruth McClung. Predeceased by brother-in-law Art Weir. Fraser along with his wife Agnes established McClung Nursery on Hwy 6 over 60 years ago and he still occassionally wandered the nursery now operated by his son Brian and wife Vicki. He was a proud veteran serving in WWII with the Royal Canadian Navy, and was a founding member of the Port Dover Horticultural Society and founder of the Norfolk Master Gardeners Assoc. Fraser was also Past President of the Norfolk Field Naturalists and a vendor at the Simcoe market for over 30 years. A long time member of Grace United Church he will be sadly missed by many family and friends. Friends are invited to share their memories of Fraser with family at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave. Port Dover, 519-583-1530, on Thursday, August 16, 2012, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Service to celebrate Fraser's life will be held in the funeral home chapel Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. Reverend Frank Walker officiating, followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery Lynedoch.
