Obituary of CORNELIUS SCHERTZING

SCHERTZING, Cornelius "Cor" of Port Dover passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday February 6, 2015 in his 78th year. Beloved husband of JoAnne of 48 years, dear father of Audrey (Cameron) and Dwayne (Liz and Natosha Hutchings). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Cor will be missed by his siblings Phil (Mary), Nella (Jack) Berkhout and Willie. Predeceased by his parents Hubertus and Catherine, siblings Ali, Kees, Joan, Tony, Joanne and Rita. Cor will always be remembered for his love of gardening and impeccable lawn maintenance. His bright blue eyes and infectious smile were always a welcome sight and his easy going, happy go lucky attitude made him a joy to be around, he was a true lover of life and good times. He will be sadly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday February 9, 2015 at 11am St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church Lynn Park Ave Port Dover. Father Stephen Savel Celebrant. Interment Port Dover Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 102 First Ave (519)-583-1530.
