Obituary of Johanna Wagenaar

WAGENAAR, Johanna (Joanne) Louise (nee de Groot) passed away peacefully on Saturday February 27, 2016 in her 87th year. Known affectionately as Port Dover's 'Barefoot Lady'. Loving mother of Anna, Christina (Randy), Helen (Keith), Carol (Jim), Cathy, Rob and Bobbi. Sister of Sjoerdsje (Gerrit), Reino, Ida (Roelof), Willeke (Hans) and their extended family in the Netherlands. Proud grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 14. Predeceased by her husband Bauke and daughters Carol and Christina. Joanne had a passion for politics and was a fierce, long time NDP supporter. She enjoyed reading, doing crosswords and living life her way. Friends are invited to share their memories of Joanne with family on Wednesday March 2, 2016 from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Joanne's memory on Thursday March 3, 2016 at 1pm at the funeral home Chapel.
