Obituary of Gerard Antony Vanderpost

VANDERPOST, Gerard Antony "Gerry" of Simcoe, passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on Saturday, May 18, 2019 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Adeline. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Gerry of Brantford, Antony of Simcoe, Julie and Allan Welsh of Simcoe and Karen Waldick of Port Dover. Loving grandfather of Elyse, Paul, Whitley, Hannah, Riley, Garrett, Brook (Leah), and Karli (Dave), and great-grandfather of Luke. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Andy and Kay Vanderpost of Simcoe, Willie and Bob Boles of British Columbia, Ann Fekete of Burford, Betty and Ted Sherman of Combermere, Yvette Vanderpost of Port Dover and Karen Vanderpost of British Columbia. Predeceased by his parents Job and Johanna, brothers Jack, Tony, Joe and his wife Sharon, his sisters Rita Lenis and her husband Burt, Marlene Elliot and her husband Grant and brother-in-law, Steve Fekete. Gerry loved music, he was a self-taught musician learning to play accordion, piano and organ. He was the organist at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church for 30 years. Gerry was deeply devoted to his grandchildren and loved anytime spent with them. Visitation for Gerry will be held at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave. Port Dover 519-583-1530 on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 7 pm to 9 pm. A Memorial Service to honour Gerry's life will be held Monday, May 27, 2019 at 11 am in the funeral home Chapel. Father Lucio Couto officiating.
