HOLMES, THOMAS ANTHONY
HOLMES, Thomas Anthony of Port Dover, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in his 69th year. Loving husband of Elizabeth. Cherished father of Tom and his wife Rachelle. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Karen Holmes, Tom and Judy Evans, Mary and Craig Summers and Joseph Evans. Tom will be fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his son Michael, brother Michael Ian and his parents Tom and Santina. Tom spent his life as an educator, a Teacher, Principal and Director of Education. He received the SGB Robinson Memorial Award, honouring him for achieving high standards of service in secondary education. He took great pride in his work in health and safety in the workplace, which he also received an award. Tom played hockey for many years, and as an avid fan he took a keen interest in the Port Dover Sailors Hockey Club, where he helped in any area needed. His presence will be sadly missed in the lives of all who loved him. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519) 583-1530. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday April 26, 2010 at 11 am at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Lynn Park Rd., Port Dover. Father Stephen Savel celebrant. Cremation to follow.
