Obituary of Douglas Robert Hunter

HUNTER, Douglas Robert of Port Dover - March 8, 1960 - September 3, 2021, passed away at Norfolk General Hospital. Born in Belleville, ON. Beloved son of Flora and the late James, grandson of the late Ivy and Harry Hunter and the late Charles and Flora McIntosh. Soulmate and best friend of Felicity Scott "Flicky" for 40 years. Brother of Dan and Mary of Newmarket, uncle to Adena, Brett and Joey, and brother of Dale and Rhea of Hamilton and uncle to Daniel, Erin and Andrew. Nephew of Charles and Rose McIntosh, cousins Kelly, Perry, Todd and the late Kevin, Nancy and Barry Bousher. Doug was a great Raptors fan.The family moved to Aurora, ON in 1963. Doug had many friends there, Ian Bryson, pals since childhood. Doug worked for CN Railway, he had his own car detailing business and worked many years for the horse racing business. Doug and Flicky came to Dover for July 1st for 20 years and moved here 2 years ago. Doug was very fond of his Dad's cousins, Jean and Sonny Lowe, Doug and Peggy Reid, Donna Ivey and their families. In keeping with Doug's wishes there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson Waters Funeral Home, Port Dover 519-583-1530.
