Dear Tony, Mark and Wayne and families,
With great sadness we heard of the passing of our aunt Marianne, only shortly after finding out she was seriously ill. She will be remembered by us as the very warm and kind “big sister of mum” that we always had the pleasure of meeting when she was visiting the Netherlands. Despite the distance she saw us grow up, got to know our families, and with her passing she leaves very warm memories to us all.
My oldest childhood memory of her is from the 70-ies when my grandparents took me as a little boy to stay with “tante Marja en ome Teun” in that far-away-country where everybody including my cousins speak a weird language, and where she made me feel very much at home. When I turned homesick she talked to me about Holland, effortlessly moving from there to the introduction of american-style pancakes and Puff the magic dragon.
We are thinking about you from the other side of the ocean, and wish you all stength with the loss of your wife, mother, and grandmother.

From far away over the oceans we feel close to you these days. We are with you in our hearts.
I always will remember 'tante Marja' as a warm-hearted aunt who always was very interested in our lifes and in our thoughts. I will never forget the way here eyes could tell the way she was feeling. We will remember her twinkling eyes.

Lieve oom Teun en familie,
Gecondoleerd met het overlijden van vrouw, moeder, oma zus en mijn tante Marianne.
De laatste familiefoto liet helaas al zien dat het niet goed ging. Toen ik haar schreef dat de laatste familiefoto, een prachtige foto was.. vertelde ze me dat deze foto veel herinnering opriep door de foto die ik 3 jaar geleden had geplaatst van de laatste keer Centerparks. Canada.. zo ver weg.. maar 3 jaar geleden waren jullie zo dicht bij!
Lieve Teun en Familie, heel veel liefde en kracht wensen wij jullie toe voor de komende tijd en dat jullie ook zoveel steun mogen ervaren om dit verdriet draagbaar te maken. Met veel liefdevolle herinnering denken wij aan tante Marianne terug.

Dear Tony,
We became family the day Nicole and Mark were married, 21 years ago now,
Marianne was always very enthusiastic to join in any games, tricks or activities,
especially when it involved our 3 granddaughters.
In particular, one year at your home, 6 of us (Oma, Grandma, Nicole , Asha, Cali and Em)
all made feather fascinators!! She absolutely loved it!
We will miss Marianne dearly. We looked forward to our family gatherings and catchup.
Tony, we are sorry for the loss of your soul mate and best friend.
Her Light will always continue to shine in our hearts, and perpetually
in the Love and Care of our dear God.

Goodbye zussie,
It is difficult to speak and whrite in another language. But i Will try it anyway.
Marian is my older sister with a difference of 9 years.
I was just a child when she left the Netherlands by boat to go follow her lover in that. far a way country Canada.
We kept in touch, but not that much. So the last time I was here in Canada was in 1985.
Marian and Tony always came to Holland to visit us in Warnsveld, a little village in what we call the back corner of Holland , where my home is.
Five years ago, Marian and Tony ware married for 50 years and my wife Jenny and i had been married for 40 years.
We decided to celebrate this together by taking a cruise to Norway. A fantastic journey that only brings us together.
Three years ago, Marian and Tony came to the Netherlands to say goodbye to my wife Jenny, who died shortly afterwards from cancer.
I could never have imagined then that I have to be here exactly 3 years later for the exact same reason.
I am very grateful to the staff at the hospital in Hamilton for the opportunity to visit Marian, under the restrictions of the COVID-19. And yet be able to say goodbye our way, by saying I love you and seald with a kiss.
Dear Marian, have a safe journey to heaven and say hello toJenny.

Beste Tony, kinderen en kleinkinderen.
Wij condoleren jullie met het grote verlies van je vrouw Marianne, jullie moeder, schoonmoeder en oma.
Bijna 55 jaar hebben jullie lief en leed mogen delen, en daarom zal het gemis zeer groot zijn.
Tony, wij hebben je ooit tijdens een uitvaartdienst in Nederland het prachtige lied, “ It is well with my soul” horen zingen,
wat diepe indruk heeft gemaakt.
Wij bidden je toe, dat als er straks grote stiltes zullen komen, dat je dan de kracht mag ontvangen om in je hart te zingen
