Obituary of James Samuel Hoover
HOOVER, James passed away peacefully on Saturday April 9, 2022 at Norfolk General Hospital in his 94th year. Loving father of Judy (Andre) Mercier of Port Dover and Pamela (Alan) Good of London. Dear grandfather of Larry (Tanya), Lorraine (Jeff), Michelle, James, Cynthia (Darryl) and Tylor (Jessica). Proud great-grandfather of Austin, Cienna, Connor, Jayden, Phillip, Nathan, Lucy, Elizabeth and Mildred. Sadly missed by his siblings Jack (Leola), Stanford (Marlene), Chris (Barb), Muriel, Marguerite, Mary Kay and Marlene (Dan). Fondly remembered by his dear friend Judy Whitmore. Predeceased by his wife Phyllis, parents Oscar and Gladys, brother Austin and his wife Leta, sister Mildred and brother in laws Glen (Murphy), Bruce (Helka) and Glen (Held). Jim retired from the American Can in 1986 and continued working driving truck for a number of local trucking companies. He loved to go fishing and camping, he was a former President of the Norfolk Drifters, and a member of the NCHA and Power Squadron. Cremation has taken place with all services being private.
