Marlene and family,
For many years, our families were together for special events. My dad, Earl Reichheld, and Fred's dad were together all the time. It seems as thought Keith, and I grew up with Doug and Fred. It is with sadness that I remember these things, but gladness to have had the privilege of knowing Fred.
May God be with all oof you as you grieve your loss.

Fred certainly enriched the lives of Port Dover youth for many years. We have many fond memories of him at the arena. You could tell he loved kids and they loved him. He was particularly good with the little guys as they first took to the ice and you could see his pride as their skills started to develop. Marlene and family, our thoughts are with you during this very sad time.

As a hockey player in Port Dover, we grew up at the rink. Fred was part of everyone young hockey kids life on the ice and off, as he coached, taught and brought teamwork, hard work, determination and life long learning into light!
Whoever we went to the rink whether is was games, power skating or even pubic skates, Fred was there watching and giving subtle chats on how to use edges, stickhandle with the puck and occasionally how to talk to the ladies too in our teenaged years. I know he will be watching the kids from above providing subtle tricks of the trade for years to come…rest easy Fred!
Port Dover lost an iconic member of our community!

I was so sorry to read of Fred's passing. When I think of Fred, "Hockey" comes to mind. When my son was young, it was Fred that first taught him Power Skating. He was such a kind man. His love of hockey made the kids want to bring their best to the rink. He was so respected throughout the community. Thinking of his family at this time. RIP Fred.
