I wanted to post sooner but I was in shock and processing Randy’s death. He was one of my dearest friends we met 33 years ago… I remember the day we met. We were instant friends and have been since that day. We got the opportunity to travel together, dance, share the good and the bad of life’s experiences. What we did every time we spoke or saw each other was laugh. What pure joy to have a friend who you laughed yourselves into tears. He was such a great support and always had your back but was also so honest. I am happy he got to meet the love of his life “Scott” and honoured to be part of their wedding. He had so many plans for the future, growing old with Scott and his dogs… enjoying the house, farm and Florida. He worked so hard for all he had and was proud of what he had done with his career and personal life. Speaking to him a a couple of days before his sudden death he spoke of all the happiness he had and how he looked forward to the future. He was happy and I am comforted with knowing that. He would want us all to embrace life full on… to dance and laugh in his memory. As much as I miss my best buddy I am lucky to have had so much time with him in my life. He was a true gift. He always ended each phone call by saying he loved me and I him. Rest In Peace

It was a shock to see Randy's obit in the Expositor. I am so sorry for your loss. Randy and I became great friends in high school and then later lived together in Kitchener. We used to go dancing all the time. Sometimes when we didn't like the music at the Cowboy, we went to a parking lot, blared the radio and danced around. He was the reason that I went to Lakehead University to get my degree. He motivated me and for that, I will always be grateful. The world has lost a true compassionate person.

Scott was a true friend and colleague. His heart was larger than life and he touched many. His knowledge base was expansive, I learned so much from him. I have wonderful memories of working with him at the BGH as well as spending time together in Port Dover. He was an inspiration with his passion, giving 100% to each interest. He is resting with the Angels now know doubt looking down upon us and guiding us. Sandra Comand

My deepest condolences to Scott and family for the loss of Scottie. I got to know Scott while he worked at CAMHS first as my manager then as a colleague and friend. Scott was a kind and gentle soul who cared about people. I believe he was truly “called” to do the work he did and he made a difference in people’s lives.
We hadn’t “seen” each other much since the pandemic but would “chat” often online. I will miss our chats and cat pictures he would send to brighten my day. Rest In Peace Scottie. He will be missed.

To Scott's family my deepest condolences. I met and worked with Scott at the CAMHS office with SGS in Simcoe. In the short time we worked together Scott was supportive of my role and before his retirement he shared some very wise words with me which I will always remember. RIP Scott knowing your work here on earth is done.

Will miss Scottie's warm heart, generous spirit, love for life, family and friends, and his courage and fearlessness in going where few have gone before, in playing crib with my mother who took no prisoners on the crib board.
A farm boy from tobacco road who met his partner in life, a farm boy from the Duffus road, sorta.
A King of the furrows, at Ivy Lane Farms, on his journey away from here, at Kubota speed, his wheels not touching the ground.
Gonna miss Scottie not being around.
My sincere condolences to Scott, family and friends.

I had the pleasure of officiating Scottie and Scott’s wedding. I’ll always remember the long walk in the park that we took with the dogs in tow when they were looking for a wedding officiant. We talked about anything and everything and probably least about the wedding. We started our walk as relative strangers but left as friends. I was honoured when they chose me to do their wedding. I learned very quickly how smart and compassionate Scottie was. I am proud to have called him a friend. My heart goes out to Scott and all of Scottie’s loved ones

Dear Scott !! Thank you ! so much for the kind phone call to tell me about Randy's death. I remember our wonderful and fun times at Wilfred Laurier. He took me to Octoberfest where he taught me the " bird dance " , laughing all the way through. Also our many fun times dancing up a storm at Lulu's. He was always kind and compassionate and we had many a heart to heart about our relationships and family. Throughout the years there would be a delightful call from Randy to catch up on what was happening in our lives and career. I was impressed with his exceptional career in Social Work. He was a gift of devotion and kindness to his clients and the colleagues he mentored in his many administrative roles. A brilliant man. Funny warm and kind, he shall be greatly missed !!!
