Obituary of Wayne Clark

CLARK, Wayne Robert, peacefully beside his wife of 55 years, on September 13, 2023 at the age of 78.  Life-long snuggler and head scratcher to his loving wife Colleen.  Wayne's greatest joys in his life were Colleen and their six children, Meredith (Mark), Carolyn (Al), Kathleen (Jason), Jim (Kristin), Maeghan (Kevin) and Nancy (Greg), and seventeen grandchildren, James, Alison, Samantha (Will), Ian, Emma, Matthew, Sara, Madeline, Amelia, Brayden, Tyler, Avery, Charles, Autumn, Finn, Oliver and "baby perfect" Nora. Wayne was a proud Hamilton-Wentworth Regional Police Officer for 30 years with his most memorable years serving alongside his partner and best friend Bud Black.  He enjoyed the brotherhood he shared with the policing community where he was a respected mentor to new recruits and known for his larger-than-life personality and annual Christmas and pool parties.  He loved nothing more than hosting a party. Port Dover was Wayne's favourite place where he was frequently seen reading the paper or fishing on the pier, puffing on a Century Sam stogie, driving with lumber sticking out of his various beat-up vehicles or chatting with anyone who needed a friend. Wayne was comforted by the thought of being reunited with his beloved mother Annamarie. Supporting people who were less fortunate in life was a life-long passion for Wayne.  Those who wish to honour him can do so by making a donation to a charity that supports those in need or the Huntington Society of Canada, making an act of kindness or striking up a conversation with someone lonely. The Crazy Clarks love you always Dad, Gramps and we will continue the party.  Friends are invited to meet with the family to share their memories of Wayne on Tuesday September 19, 2023 from 11am to 1pm at THOMPSON WATESR FUNERAL Home 102 First Ave Port Dover 519-583-1530.
