Obituary of Bob Doherty

DOHERTY, Robert “Bob” Anthony – passed away peacefully on November 7, 2023, at Stedman Community Hospice in Brantford. Bob passed away peacefully from this world, with the same grace and dignity that he has forever shown to all those who were so privileged to be part of his world. With the devotion, support and love of his wife Dorothea, his daughter Amy (Jason) and son Chris (Janelle), Bob fought the most courageous battle against an illness that stole his good health. His bravery and hope in the face of his illness is witness to the same strength and integrity that he lived throughout his life. He was devoted to his wife Dorothea of 46 years, his children Amy and Chris and his two grandchildren, Emily and Owen. Bob leaves his younger sister Kathy (Barney) and his little bro and best friend Scott (Shirley) and Brian (Lori). He is predeceased by his parents, Ben and Ilene. Bob and his good friend Kent had many years of coaching Chris and his friends with  Port Dover Minor Hockey.  After hockey was finished, Bob and Kent continued their friendship with Friday morning coffees at the Dairy Bar.  The hockey coffee crew – Darryl, Mike, Kent and Bob.  Despite Bob's illness taking over, the love those men had for each other carried on as they continued to meet at Bob's house every Friday morning. A private family service will occur at a later date.
