Obituary of John Gerard McCann

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of John McCann on November 13, 2023 at Norview Lodge long term care home. Predeceased by his parents John and Sarah of Belfast, Northern Ireland and cherished husband to Patricia. John will be sadly missed by his sons Shaun (Pia) and Barry (Atina) and his grandson Aidan. Beloved brother of Mary (John), Kate (Howard), Margaret (Keith), Anne (Maurice), Gerard (Una) and Liam (Olga). John worked at Ontario Power Generation for 29 years, raising to the level of Plant Manager, a job he loved. He was a devoted Irishman, a proud Canadian, an avid golfer, corgi lover, who delighted his sons and grandson. Thank you to all the staff at Norview Lodge, particularly the nurses, PSW’s and Dr. Medve. We can’t thank you enough for all the care and attention. Special thanks to Sharon and Jim McCallum, always there to help and support. The family invites you to join them for Funeral Mass at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Port Dover on Thursday December 7, 2023 at 12:00pm.
