Obituary of Sheila Quinn
It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Sheila Quinn peacefully in the comfort of her home on Thursday February 29, 2024 with family by her side. Loving wife and best friend of Stephen. Cherished mother of Rosalee (Javier) Martinez, Stephanie (Andrew) Harper and Shaun (Amanda) Quinn. Proud grandmother of Hailey, Lola, Isabela, Morgan and Quinn. Sheila leaves behind her brothers Randy (Juanita) Ireland and Rob Ireland, as well as brother and sister in laws Donna (Chuck) Barnes, Linda Quinn, Michael (Jennifer) Quinn, Barb Quinn, Kathleen Quinn, Kevin (Darlene) Quinn. Sheila will be missed by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Patricia Ireland, sister Patricia Ireland, brother Richard Ireland, brother in laws John Quinn, Daniel Quinn, Timothy Quinn and sister in laws Susan Watson and Debbie Ireland. Words such as caring and generous, kind and loving, hard working and outspoken were often used when describing Sheila. She devoted her life to her children, always making sure everyone else’s needs were met before her own. She will be remembered for traditions she created, making holidays extra special for her children and grandchildren and boxing day gatherings that created memories to last a lifetime. Sheila achieved many accomplishments throughout her years and in 1989 She and Steve had the opportunity to move to the Quinn family farm in Brant County. Soon after, with some push from her late father in law Fred, Sheila’s first two Canadian Horses arrived on the farm in 1995. She was not a stranger to hard work and this was no different. What started out as a hobby turned into a labour of love. Many years were spent enjoying trail riding with her family, showing at various venues including The Royal Winter Fair and training along side her good friend Debbie Grey. As Sheila’s children grew, she decided to join back into the workforce. She began working at Ancaster Embroidery for her dear friends Don, Janneke and Gord. The business eventually switched hands and was then called Promo Place. The new owners Tim and Brandon quickly became friends and soon felt like family. The Quinn family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Montour from Stedman Hospice, the nurses from Bayshore and especially to Tracey Hill from VON for the extraordinary care and affection she showed to both Sheila and her family during this difficult time. The family invites you to join them on Saturday March 16, 2024 from 12:00pm – 4:00pm for a Celebration of Life at The Royal Canadian Legion, Caledonia.
